Public education professionals are the boots on the ground for promoting the ongoing success of Pennsylvania’s students. Every day, these individuals are discovering transformative ways to use technology in the classroom, supporting students’ interests and skills while creating viable pathways for success and going above and beyond to ensure that students are given equal access to a high-quality education.
Do you know superintendents, principals, teachers, board entities or other public education professionals who demonstrate excellence and innovation in fulfilling their responsibilities? Recognize their exemplary service by nominating them for a Pennsylvania Education Innovation Award!
Presented in collaboration with PSBA, CM Cares and CM Regent Insurance Company, the awards recognize inventive leadership in three categories:
The Innovative Board Award recognizes the exceptional performance of a school, career and technical center, or intermediate unit board. A $5,000 donation will be made to the public school education foundation.
The Innovative School Leader Award recognizes a school superintendent, assistant superintendent, curriculum supervisor or building-level administrator who brings a unique approach to leading his or her district, building or program. The awarded individual will receive a $1,000 award.
The Innovative Teacher Award recognizes a teacher for his or her outstanding classroom leadership. The awarded individual will receive a $1,000 award.
The deadline for nominations has been extended to September 13, 2019. Selected individuals will be notified by September 23, 2019. All award recipients will be invited to attend the PA Public Education Foundation’s (PaPEF) Excellence in Public Education Leadership and Awards Dinner at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center on October 16, 2019. In addition to recognition at PaPEF’s dinner, awarded individuals will be featured in the post-conference edition of PSBA Bulletin and on the PSBA website.
Award recipients must be part of a PSBA member district at the time of nomination and acceptance of the award. An up to $500 travel stipend will be awarded to recipients if necessary.
